In 2022, I was on a phone call with a desperate parent. She was asking for referrals to a higher level of care for her child, who did not qualify for most residential treatment settings. I named IOPs, therapeutic modalities, educational consultants, but they had already tried them all without getting the help they needed. Where does a family go for treatment when the level of care they need does not exist?
Maybe a month later, I got on the phone with Heidi Fixler-Verges, LCSW-S and Dana Pohlman, LCSW, and asked if they'd ever consider going into private practice to fill that gap in care.

In April of 2022, we started LIFT (Lasting Intensive Family Treatment) with the mission of bridging this gap between traditional weekly therapy and intensive higher levels of care.
Family Therapy is Our Specialty
After years of treating high risk adolescents with complex combinations of depression disorders, anxiety disorders, oppositional defiance, suicide attempts, aggression, self harm and other concerns, we know that effective treatment requires not only addressing the needs of the child, but also providing therapeutic support to the child's family. All of our LIFT families receive family therapy, individual therapy, parent coaching, and true collaborative care. Additional services such as skills therapy, music therapy, equine therapy and more are provided based on the level of support each family requires.
