We understand that families needing a higher level of care often need to begin services urgently. Please give us a call at (214) 380-3485 to complete a complimentary phone consultation and to schedule an assessment. You can also email us at team@lift-therapies.com. We will discuss a more specific timeline for getting started during our consultation call.
The first visit with LIFT involves a comprehensive assessment which is completed by a therapist. During this assessment, the therapist will spend time meeting individually with the child, with the parent/guardians, and with the family altogether.
The purpose of the comprehensive assessment is to gather information, including your history, current concerns, and hopes for treatment. This assessment helps us to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your child and family.
The frequency of sessions varies for each family and is dependent on your individual needs and goals. Because this is an intensive, family-oriented approach to treatment, you can expect to meet with each provider of the treatment team weekly. In many cases, each therapist will include family members in the process by meeting them individually or including them in sessions with the client.
Services and sessions at the beginning of treatment may be higher in frequency to gain momentum. The frequency will gradually decrease as you continue through treatment and make progress towards your goals.
On average, you can expect the following in a typical LIFT treatment plan:
· Your child and/or family will meet with the Wraparound Team Lead weekly
· Your child will meet with the individual therapist weekly
· Your child will meet with the creative arts and/or experiential therapist weekly
· Your child will meet with the Skills Therapist weekly, and in some cases, daily**
· Your family will meet alongside the entire treatment team for a Wraparound team meeting once a month, or more frequently if needed
** Skills Therapy is a highly individualized service provided for each client and family. Some clients will see their Skills Therapist once a week, and other clients may see their Skills Therapist five days per week. These sessions can be provided in the home, office, school, or in the community, depending on the treatment plan and unique needs and goals of each child and family.
The length of each therapy appointment is determined by several factors, including the type of therapy being provided and the overall treatment plan. The standard length of sessions are as follows:
· Individual Therapy: 50 minutes
· Creative Arts and Experiential Therapies: 50 minutes*
· Skills Therapy: length varies**
· Wraparound Team Meetings: typically 1 to 1.5 hours
Please note that sessions start and end on time to respect the appointments of other clients.
* extended sessions are available upon request and on a case-by-case basis
** length of sessions varies depending on the skills being implemented, and can be a one-hour session or necessitate multiple hours per session
